Acceptable use policy
Last updated 26 October 2026.
This policy is part of our terms of service. It keeps Halftonik safe, fast and trusted for every shop and their customers. It applies to everyone using Halftonik in your shop.
1. Don't use Halftonik for anything unlawful
- Fraud, scams, misleading customers, or helping anyone else do so.
- Printing, storing or sharing material that's illegal, or that promotes violence, hatred or harassment of people for who they are.
- Artwork, logos or designs you don't have the right to use, such as counterfeit brand or sports team merchandise.
- Collecting or using people's information in a way the privacy laws don't allow.
2. Messages to customers
- Emails and texts sent through Halftonik must be about your shop's work: quotes, proofs, invoices, orders, reminders and replies.
- Don't send marketing emails through Halftonik. Marketing texts can only go to people who've agreed to receive them, as the Spam Act 2003 requires; every text says it's from your shop and how to opt out.
- Don't send bulk messages to bought or scraped lists, and don't try to get around the monthly text allowance or the opt-out when someone replies STOP.
3. Security
- Don't try to get into another shop's information, or into parts of Halftonik your role doesn't allow.
- Don't share sign-ins, or give out API keys beyond the people and apps that need them.
- Don't upload files that contain viruses or harmful code.
- Found a security problem? Thank you. Please email support@halftonik.com before telling anyone else, don't access or change other people's information, and give us reasonable time to fix it. We won't take action against people who report problems this way in good faith.
4. Fair use
- Don't overload Halftonik, for example with automated requests far beyond what your shop needs.
- The open API is for connecting your shop's own apps. Keep to the request limits, and don't use it to copy or rebuild Halftonik.
- Don't resell Halftonik or let other businesses use your account.
5. If this policy is broken
We may remove content, pause sending, limit a feature or suspend an account, as our terms of service set out. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix things. To report misuse of Halftonik, email support@halftonik.com.
